1. Clean up your diet I like to say that abs are made in the kitchen. A clean diet is crucial for your body to perform at its peak, as well as to repair and grow your muscles after an intense workout. Your body needs nutrients for its optimal function. Having nutrient dense foods can help your body to feel its best. Also, the human body needs a variety of nutrients ranging from iron to Vitamin D, so a nutrient dense diet will keep nutritional deficiencies away. Another plus to a clean diet is energy levels. It can provide you with sustainable energy that will last you the whole day, so say goodbye to these mid-day naps. If you're one to workout, you will also find that with a clean diet comes more satisfying and intense workouts, and that muscle recovery will be less grueling. All in all, a clean diet will help you feel and get fit for summer 2019. 2. Start moving Although abs are made in the kitchen, muscle is made at the gym, or doing any other form of exercise of that matter. If we go beyond just getting toned, exercise has so many fitness benefits to offer such as preventing disease, increasing your endurance and strength, and boosting your self confidence. Your body is susceptible to many diseases, but some have a lower risk of occurring such as coronary artery disease, type two diabetes, asthma, early joint pain, among many others if you participate in physical activity every day. By doing physical activity, you will notice that your strength and endurance has improved as you are challenging your body physically every day, which is developing your muscular strength and endurance. As you start to exercise more, you will start to achieve the goals that you have set for yourself, and will see many changes in the function of your body. These changes can help to boost your self-confidence, as you are consistently setting and achieving new goals for yourself. As we enter an era of couch potatoes, we need to remember that moving our bodies is one of the best ways to keep it in good shape. 3. Drink more water Your body is made up of more than 60% water, and need water to be able to function properly. Drinking more water can help with getting your body ready for summer as it can improve your metabolism, suppress your urges to snack, and help you exercise. By drinking more cold water throughout the day, this will help to increase your metabolism, as your body has to work harder in order to change the temperature of the cold water to your body temperature. Water also fills up your stomach very fast which can help you with those midday cravings as you will already be filled up with water. Finally, it can help you to exercise. Since you body is more than 60% water, your muscles need water to be able to perform at their best. Water also helps with flushing the toxins out of your body as you are working out when you sweat. Ultimately, water is able to make the systems in your body function properly, as well as to help repair any damage that may have been done.
